A Sweet Sixteen Party to Remember

A girl turns sixteen only once in her life, and it has long been considered a very special time.  She is on her way to becoming a woman, and yet she still holds that special place in her parents’ hearts that only a child can.  You should celebrate this momentous occasion, because this will be a time that she will always remember.  You have the opportunity to make it a great memory.  If you are going to throw a Sweet Sixteen party, consider the following tips.

Make it a Surprise While she would undoubtedly have a great time planning the party, there is something very special about being able to surprise a young girl with something so outstanding.  So, don’t tell her, and be sure that her friends don’t say a word.  Make the day something so unexpected that she can’t help but shriek with joy!

Create A Theme Rather than opting for a semi-formal or relaxed dress code, ask her friends to wear something extra special.  Choose a theme that will work with her tastes and make the most of it.  This will actually make it easier when choose decorations anyway!

Offer Manis And Pedis You can do this beforehand, as at-home ‘spa days’ are always a hit with girls of this age range, but you could also arrange to have someone at the party venue prepared to offer the services.

Let The Guests Pick The Music Rather than trying to select music that your teen will appreciate, make it easy on yourself.  Ask guests to choose the music.  You could just ask them to name their favorite song on the RSVP, or you can make this a more interesting aspect of the party planning by asking each guest to give the names of the top three most-played tracks on his or her iPod or phone.
